History of Game of the Generals

This game was invented by Sofronio H. Pasola, Jr. and with the inspiration of Ronnie Pasola (his son). The Pasolas first tried Game of the Generals on a chessboard and even the pieces ranks were still unarranged. There were no spies in the experimental game; but after Ronnie Pasola remembered the movies of James Bond and Mata Hari, he added the spies. Making the pieces hidden was the idea of the Pasola’s after remembering card games. The first Game of the Generals’ public introduction was on February 28, 1973. (Wikipedia)
